Welcome to “My Travel Frames”.

Dreams are illustrations from the book your soul is writing about you.

“Listen to your soul, live your dreams.”

Hi! My name is Subhadeep Mondal and I’m a travel blogger and photographer from Kolkata, India. I am also a husband, father, brother, and son. I was born in a small village in West Bengal and moved to Kolkata at the age of seven. Since then, Kolkata has been my home.

Travelling outside Kolkata was not a frequent thing since my childhood, neither during my studies or my job, except for occasional seminars, workshops, and conferences. For me, family holidays were all about going to our ancestral home.

My first long trip was to Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh in 2010. That was the first time I saw a mountain—the first sight of mesmerizing, majestic Himalaya. I was awestruck by its beauty, and I was literally trying to capture everything on my camera. That trip awakened the travel bug inside me.

Since then, I decided to travel more often. I started to maintain a holiday calendar and pack my travel bag whenever I get an opportunity to run away. My wife is my travel partner on most of my trips. But, sometimes, even she gets irritated when I start to make my next travel plan while still on a trip. Honestly, I desire to travel more and more and shape my work and life accordingly.

Throughout these years of my studies and job, I still managed to continue one hobby: photography. I like to see things with my camera. I had my first camera when I was eighteen. The old days of film photography were definitely more challenging. But the best part was when I got those photos back from the photo studio. It was reliving all the memories again when we saw the photos.

My Travel Frames is where I write my travel stories and share my travel photos. A place where I can connect with many like-minded travellers in the world. This is like a vent to ease out my stresses and a window to look into my soul. After a hectic day of work, I enjoy nothing as much as writing a blog or editing a photo. It energizes me and motivates me to keep working.

I started this blog to write my travel stories to inspire people who like to travel but cannot do so because of a poor work-life balance. You do not need to quit everything to travel the world. All you need is good planning, an urge to go out and a willingness to explore the world. Travelling will be the most valuable learning experience in your entire life.

So, this is my story. Story of an ordinary man. A man who dreams of travelling the world, keeping everything else in his life just the way it is. A man who travels not to change anything, rather explore new places, live in different cultures, meet new people and make memories with his camera. Because that’s my dream.

I am in my early days of blogging. So, if you have any suggestion or advice, please feel free to comment. Let me know what you have liked and how I can improve.
